Biography
Mr. Morales’ bankruptcy practice focuses primarily on consumer bankruptcy relief through Chapter 7 and Chapter 13. Mr. Morales also represents clients in foreclosure defense and unfair debt collection practice matters.
Mr. Morales is a member of the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys and was selected as a Fellow in the trial lawyer honorary society Litigation Counsel of America. Mr. Morales is admitted to practice before the United States United States Federal Courts for the Northern and Central Districts of California, the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and the California Supreme Court.
Prior to entering the law, Mr. Morales received a degree in Civil Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and earned a graduate degree in Economic Policy at Princeton University. After a brief career in international development and engineering, Mr. Morales entered the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, where he received extensive training in intellectual property law, international transactions and was one of seventeen graduates to earn a Certificate in Taxation Law.
Following law school, Mr. Morales served as a Staff Attorney with the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, where he handled a variety of bankruptcy, intellectual property, taxation, civil rights and immigration appeals. Mr. Morales then practiced with two of the leading firms of the Central Coast before founding The Morales Law Firm.
